Exhibiting Metal Wall Art at Urban Underground with 45 Juried National Artists
I am exhibiting my newest metal wall art “Alias” at the current show at the Peoria Art Guild called Urban Underground. It is juried by Christina Cosio, Assistant Director of Exhibitions and Exhibition Studies School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) Sullivan Galleries.
The exhibit is running from June 28 through July 16, 2014. It features contemporary art from 45 national artist that were selected to exhibit their interpretations of the theme urban underground. To purchase the piece during the exhibit dates, please contact the Peoria Art Guild directly. I attended the opening reception which included DJs and a fashion show. Finely crafted corners
Here are some detail shots of “Alias”. Molding the corners of my metal art in a clean fashion is very time consuming. It can sometimes take me nearly an hour just to hammer one corner into shape with a ball pein hammer. That is after getting all the bends just right. These are definitely a labor of love.
